Jermyn Street in 1730 was a fashionable world of enterprise, excitement and migration that brought with it knowledge and opportunity. From our shop on Jermyn Street in St James’s, Edward Bodenham was reminded of his childhood when a delivery of fragrance was dropped and spilt outside the Floris doorway and for days the street outside was filled with the scent of perfume essence.
On his first visits to the shop as a child, fragrance was still created in the ‘mine’ beneath, perfuming the street with a continuous blend of the scents being poured below, and therefore the ‘Jermyn Street’ Eau de Parfum was born out of the desire to celebrate our home at 89 Jermyn Street and the businesses and surrounding community that make up this hub of satorial style and elegant luxury.
In 2015 to celebrate the launch of Jermyn Street Eau de Parfum into the private collection, renowned London based illustrator Clym Evernden was commissioned by Floris to capture the unique pace and traditional yet fashionable enterprise of Jermyn Street, in his own spectacular style. The drawing he created was then painstakingly re-created onto the famous window of 89 Jermyn Street...
In 2015 to celebrate the launch of Jermyn Street Eau de Parfum into the private collection, renowned London based illustrator Clym Evernden was commissioned by Floris to capture the unique pace and traditional yet fashionable enterprise of Jermyn Street, in his own spectacular style. The drawing he created was then painstakingly re-created onto the famous window of 89 Jermyn Street one August morning. Drawing from the inside of the window (so having to draw back to front) Clym spent a full day creating a unique piece of live art.
